A North Atlantic Trade Alliance?

NY Times:

Trade Deal Between U.S. and Europe Gains Momentum

Corporations and business groups on both sides of the Atlantic are pushing for a pact, which they say would produce substantial economic benefits.
I suspect only the unions will oppose it.  They are not very smart when it comes to free trade agreements.  The blocked the Colombia Free Trade Agreement for years even though it would have been of immediate benefit to their members who work for Caterpillar and John Deere.

The Europeans have been protectionist in the past and they have some really silly rules that will have to be dealt with.  That happens in an over regulated environment.
