Assad compares Syria to Afghanistan

The Sunday Telegraph interview with the Syrian despot shows he is still full of bluster and out of touch with the real world.  He mentions Tunisia, Egypt and Yemen, but omits Libya, but his situation is closer to that of Qaddafi than to the other countries in the region.  His claim that taking him down will split the region seems far fetched.  Most governments outside Iran already oppose him and what he is doing to the Syrian people.
