Sudan's President Bashir charged with genocide
Systematic rape, murder and deportation in Darfur are the basis for charges against the leader of Sudan. He is a man at war with the world as well as the people of Darfur and southern Sudan and Chad.

The International Criminal Court's (ICC) prosecutor on Monday charged Sudan's president with genocide and crimes against humanity in Darfur in a move Khartoum warns could set fire to the region.In other words Khartoum is threatening to double down on genocide if their leader is charged with genocide. Talk about a confessions of guilt? Why don't these guys just admit their guilt and say catch if you can?

...What is interesting about this background is how the counterinsurgency in Sudan differs from the one the US conducted in Iraq. The one in Sudan was conducted the way most liberals view counterinsurgency--brutal repression. The one in Iraq which worked much better was based on protecting the people. It is an important distinction that US voters should absorb because until we prove we can beat insurgencies we will be confronted with more of them.

The alleged crimes stem from a brutal counter-insurgency campaign the Sudanese government conducted after rebels began an uprising in Sudan's western Darfur region in 2003. The United States and much of the world has already characterized the campaign as genocide.
