Reporters out of touch

This came from a Sunday Telegraph Story by Richard Wolfe who accompanied Obama on his world tour:

...

After seven years of President George W. Bush - who loathes to admit to mistakes and prefers to project a sense of omniscience – Mr Obama has a surprising readiness to concede personal flaws, minor errors and even partial ignorance.

...
Except when it comes to the surge which he was dead wrong about and he still want admit even though it is hard to argue with its success, but Obama struggles on with that argument. The guy who said he was willing to accept genocide as a price for his rigid retreat schedule is acting like he knew the surge would be a success all along. If Wolfe missed Obama prevaricating on the most important issue of the day what was he doing on this trip?

Unfortunately, Wolfe is not alone in this regard. Many reporters who accompanied him insist he made no mistakes or gaffes, completely overlooking the huge one he made on the surge as well as many others including dissing the troops.
