Obama works to restore evils of liberalism to Texas

When Barack Obama's presidential campaign and national Democratic officials talk about putting resources into Texas this year, they're not necessarily focused on beating Republican John McCain.

They're thinking about Texas as part of a strategy to eventually turn Republican states Democratic and regain a congressional delegation majority lost through the 2003 redistricting efforts of former Republican U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay.

One hundred days before the Nov. 4 election, Democratic and Republican political insiders are pondering whether Obama can lose states such as Texas and still make a difference in targeted congressional, county and legislative races by inspiring voter turnout.

Obama's campaign manager has listed Texas as a state likely to go to McCain. But the campaign also has promised to put 15 coordinators in the state to help Texas Democrats win the five seats they need for a state House majority and to win in Harris County.

"We're not down here just wasting our money," Democratic National Chairman Howard Dean said recently in Austin. "We're down here, because we know that if Barack Obama wins in Texas, or does well enough in Texas to pick up five House seats in the Texas state House of Representatives, we're going to undo all those evil things Tom DeLay did."

A Democratic majority in the Texas House would help the Democrats control the congressional redistricting process in 2011, when Texas is expected to get three new U.S. House seats due to population growth.

Where is Tom DeLay when we need him. The evil plans of Democrats to dominate a state like Texas needs to be stopped at the ballot box. They want to steal elections and our wealth and give it to their constituents. The disease of liberalism must be stopped before it takes over this country and ruins it.

It is good to see they know they can't win the Presidential election here and they also know they will not win the Cornyn Senate seat. They may steal a house seat or two, but the smart candidates are running against the awful Pelosi who wants to lower everyone standard of living by driving up the cost of energy. In fact that is now a standard Democrat plan for energy. n Texans need to stay smart and vote against Democrats at every opportunity.
