Racist statement of the day
From NY Governor Patterson as quoted in the NY Sun:
I have often mentioned the reasons to vote against Obama. He is wrong on energy. He is wrong on the war in Iraq. He is wrong on taxes. If Patterson or anyone else thinks there is anything racist in those issues they are definitely not very smart.
Governor Paterson, delivering a speech today at the NAACP's 99th annual convention at Cincinnati, suggested that the defeat of Senator Obama in the presidential election would be a victory for racism in America. So its vote for the black guy or you are a racist. Not vote for him because you agree on policy reasons, but because you are a racist if you disagree with him on those policy issues. What utter unadulterated nonsense. If Patterson keeps up this kind of rhetoric people are going to think he is not very smart. They might also think he is a racist bigot who opposes McCain because he is not black.
