Serbs continue Kosovo tantrums
Violent protests rocked Serbian-dominated northern Kosovo on Friday, as mobs chanting "Kosovo is ours!" hurled stones, bottles and firecrackers at U.N. police guarding a bridge that divides Serbians from ethnic Albanians.What we are seeing is impotent rage instead of reason. Since they know they can't march in and start ethnic cleansing again the Serbs have decided to act like two year olds who don't get their way. But tantrums are not going to change the status of Kosovo and Serbia is impotent militarily and diplomatically because of its beastly behavior in the past.The scenes evoked memories of the carnage unleashed by former Serbian autocrat Slobodan Milosevic the last time Kosovo tried to break away from Serbia, which considers the territory its ancestral homeland.
There were disturbing signs the riots in Belgrade, Serbia, and in Mitrovica have the blessing of nationalists in the Serbian government. The government hopes somehow to undo the loss of the beloved province, the site of an epic battle between Serbians and Turks in 1389.

In Washington, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said it was time for Serbians to accept that Kosovo is no longer theirs. She suggested it was time to drop centuries of grievance and sentimentality in the Balkans.
"We believe that the resolution of Kosovo's status will really, finally, let the Balkans begin to put its terrible history behind it," Rice said Friday. "I mean, after all, we're talking about something from 1389 — 1389! It's time to move forward."

CNN reports that Serbia's Kosovo minister Slobodan Samardzic said Saturday that the U.S was the "main culprit" for the violence. I guess you have to be Serbian for that to make sense. Blaming the US for the emotional immature reaction of Serbs is pretty childish in itself. Impotent rage will get them little sympathy.
Reuters has more on the Serbs' ridiculous attempt to shift blame from the rioters to the victims. Do they have any idea how ridiculous these statements are? I think they are too emotionally immature to comprehend that fact, just as the tantrums are a reflection of their emotional immaturity on the issue of Kosovo independence.
So as a non impotent Serb, i would really like to know what would YOU do if a 1/4 of your country was taken away from YOU?

Serbia is a democratic country for the last 8 years and how do the US and other impotent countries deal with that? They amputate a province.
And another thing. The negotiations between Serbia and the ethnic Albanians failed because the Albanians were promised independence even before the negotiations started. Is that moral? Is that right? Is that the way that the all mighty US does things? Come on man, wake up.
WHAT WOULD YOU DO?
I would not have done the things that caused the Kosovar Albanians to want to not be associate with a country that had abused them in the past. I would not throw a tantrum and destroy property of others. There are many things that Serbia could have done to make the Kosovar Albanians feel like they were apart of the country rather than "occupiers" of a "1/4 of your country." You tell me what Serbia has done even in the last ten years to make them feel like part of Serbia.

Am I supose to feel for you couse you suffred under Miloshevic? Becouse you seemed to enjoy that suffering for a while, and the dream of Big Serbia. YOU need to wake up and show some respect for human life for gods sake. Hope you rut in hell petar for the same lies that you are telling as Serbia has done for hundreds of years. Kosova and the Albanians who live there, have leved ther for more than 2000 years B.C. and every one who read about the region knows this.Serbia has not done ONE good thing for 95% of the population since they took over. ReplyDeleteI don't understand what is the difference between what Turkey is doing to the Kurd separatists in their own country and even inside a neighboring country (Iraq) and what has Serbia done against it's own terrorists and separatists. Do you know what is the difference? And there are violations of human rights there. Just because you don't see them on your tv doesn't mean they do not exist.
Nobody is doing anything to stop the Turks, why are you stopping Serbia in its legitimate right to defend it's own country?
As you can see, i don't go back into history to show you what have the Albanians done to the Serbians in the last 50, 100, 500 years (you can Google it, or start reading this: http://www.kosovo.net/default3.html
or any other source) in comparison to what has Milosevic's regime done because that would be a winning argument for me.
I´m sorry, but I dont see how you can forget all that murder that happend in Bosnia and Kosova. I fail to understand how "If tukish people are doing it to Kurds, so that must be OK for serbs to do it to Albanians" reason. You probably consider youreself as a fairly intellectual person, but you definitlly lack any symathy or empathy for human race. ReplyDeleteShow me one historical source (a study, a find, anything) from anywhere in the world that says that Albanians have lived there for 2000 years. There isn't ANY Albanian cultural nor historical nor religious monument in Kosovo and Metohija older than 200 years. All the mosques that are older are from Turkish origin. You are confusing yourselves, on purpose, with the Ilirians. You have nothing to show for and then you hijack another culture and assimilate it. Tell me that this isn't true and every fairly educated person in the world will laugh at you. About the Kurds, are you trying to say that a sovereign country can't defend itself when it is attacked? I don't care about who is the attacker. Prime example: 9.11 and the justified US response. Simpaty and empathy for whom? For Osama Bin Laden? For Hashim Thaci?

I am not denying what happened in Bosnia and Kosovo just don't blame everything on the Serbians, that's childish. They were just too strong, and that is a crime? As you say it it seems as though the Serbians killed everybody and they themselves didn't suffer at all. Oh God, what superhuman beings!!
And remember 400.000 Albanians were banished from Kosovo and Metohija AFTER the bombing started not before. And what was the bombing for? For a supposed massacre in Racak that never happened. Those were UCK guerrilla soldiers. You know that, i know that, every educated person who wants to know can find it out.
Serbs attempted to dominate are directly resposible for starting wars with ALL its neighbors and in all the violence in the past few decades. Serbs are the ONLY commone denominator in the violence across the board.

Albanians are descent of the Illyrians, that is a fact that serbs will never accept. All you have to do is "google" for maps over Balkans 1000-1500 years ago, and you vill see that a tribe called Albani lived allmoast exacly whre Kosova and countries around are today. I do not expect you to accept this, but just search for it. You can find allmoast whole ancient cities around Kosovo of ancient Illyria.You are so damn ignorat that I dont know way I´m wasting time writing you back. You will never learn, you will never feel, and you will NEVER NEVER have Kosova. These facts you either accept or make a "black hole" of serbia that noone wants to know of in the future. The choice is yours.
