Inside an F-16 inspection
Senior Airman Rebeca Hill, 332nd Expeditionary Maintenance non-destructive inspection technician, and Senior Airman Christopher Jaeger, 332 EMXS crew chief, conduct maintenance procedures on an F-16 Fighting Falcon, Feb. 21, 2008. The F-16 goes through overhaul maintenance every 300 hours to ensure all components are in top condition. Hill is deployed from Hill Air Force Base, Utah, and Jaeger is deployed from the Wisconsin National Guard. Photo by Senior Airman Julianne Showalter, 332nd Air Expeditionary Wing. The F-16 has proven to be a more durable aircraft than the F-15. Apparently these inspections are not finding the kind of problems that downed the F-15s.
I think the skills of those doing this job are probably easily transferable to the private sector. Click on the image for a larger view.
