Osama's brother wants to build bridge over Red Sea

Telegraph:

Osama bin Laden's half-brother is planning to build the world's second longest bridge to connect Africa and Arabia with a six-lane motorway and a railway.

Tarek Bin Laden has been wooing the governments of Djibouti and Yemen with his £35bn idea to bridge the 18 mile span across the narrowest stretch of the Red Sea.

Djibouti's prime minister said there was growing excitement about the proposal, despite the fact that it is at a very early stage and has not yet officially been presented to his government.

...
A map of the proposed location is here. It is not a bad idea if he can keep terrorist from blowing it up. Bin Laden, the father had around 57 kids, most of which are not terrorist. He was an uneducated Yemeni immigrant who was honest and competent and because of that rare combination in Saudi Arabia, got a lot of government projects and even loaned the King money on occasion. He was willing to tackle jobs than others avoided and always completed them. He did not spend a lot of time with his kids, but they were all given an opportunity to work in the company. Osama actually did some projects for the government of Sudan when he was living there.
