Hostages rescued in Iraq

LA Times:

Roy Hallums, an American contractor who had been held by captors since November, was found alive by coalition forces today near Baghdad, the U.S. military said in a statement.

Tipped off by an Iraqi detainee, American soldiers rescued Hallums and an unidentified Iraqi citizen from a farmhouse about 15 miles south of Baghdad. The military said that Hallums was in good condition, though he was receiving medical care.

"To all of you, I will be forever grateful," Hallums said today in a statement released by the military.
