US intelligence had some evidence of Saudi attack
James Risen, NY Times:
"Only days before the bombing in Saudi Arabia on Saturday that killed at least 17 people, American intelligence agencies had been warned that such an attack by Al Qaeda was imminent but the warnings lacked sufficient detail to disrupt the plot, officials said Sunday.
"...While the intelligence that provided the warnings was not detailed, the fact that the warnings came just before the bombing indicates that the Central Intelligence Agency and other American intelligence agencies are now receiving fairly accurate advanced information about the activities of Qaeda operatives inside Saudi Arabia.
"...Working with the Saudis, the C.I.A. has been able to identify several Qaeda operatives who are now inside Saudi Arabia, but they remain at large, officials said. Saudi Arabia has been able to make some arrests and break up some extremist cells."
