Democrats self-made fiasco

Former Jill Biden press secretary Michael LaRosa delivered a candid gut-check Thursday, warning that Democrats are stumbling headlong into a self-made fiasco as the federal government shutdown grinds on, exposing their shaky footing on fiscal responsibility and leaving federal workers as collateral damage in a partisan game gone wrong.

The impasse erupted after lawmakers blew past the deadline for a stopgap funding measure, slamming the doors shut at midnight Wednesday and leaving essential workers in the lurch—thousands furloughed without pay, national parks shuttered, and food safety inspections delayed.

On The Record with Greta Van Susteren, LaRosa zeroed in on the Democrats’ bind: how do they posture as guardians of federal employees while stonewalling a continuing resolution tied to the budget blueprint they themselves pushed through just months ago?


“That is why Schumer voted to keep the government open responsibly in March,” LaRosa said. “And that’s the problem now that Democrats are going to run into. How can you be a champion for the federal workforce when DOGE cuts are taking place?” He pointed to the irony of Democrats decrying efficiency reforms under the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) while refusing a clean bill that would maintain operations at Biden-era spending levels.

The Democrat shutdown makes no sense, and it should lead to the further decline in support of the party.  They have been on a downward move since Trump was recently elected.  Schumer seems desperate, but leadership is still declining.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
