Virginia Democrats have a self induced problem
Virginia Democratic gubernatorial hopeful Rep. Abigail Spanberger drew sharp online rebukes as “pathetic” and a “coward” for declining to withdraw her backing of fellow Democrat Jay Jones—who texted wishes of death against a rival and his kids—during Thursday’s debate.
Conservative commentator Steve Guest observed that Spanberger “was REPEATEDLY asked about her unhinged running mate, AG candidate Jay Jones, in the wake of his murderous threats being made public. Spanberger wouldn’t say that she denounces him. Truly pathetic.”
Prominent school-choice advocate Corey DeAngelis stated, “She needs to drop out. Now.”
“The Democrat candidate for Virginia Governor repeatedly REFUSED to pull her endorsement of the guy who fantasized about MURDERING his political opponent. He wished death upon CHILDREN,” DeAngelis added.
The Virginia GOP posted a statement on X post-debate: “The principle here is simple: if Abigail Spanberger can’t tell someone who fantasizes about murdering children to drop out of the race, she does not deserve to be our next governor.”

How hard is it to say that you do not support murdering your political opponent? Jay Jones and Abigail Spanberger are likely to have a difficult time winning after appearing to be OK with threats to children.
