Democrat shutdown means military could go hungry

HR5731 is the bill that will pay the military and their families on time and it can be passed and signed into law before October 15. The next military paycheck is due October 15. Because of the Schumer shutdown there is a dangerous possibility that the men and women who risk their lives defending America and their families will not be paid. As an Army brat (my father spent 26 years in the infantry and served in World War Two, Korea, and Vietnam) I know how tight finances can be and how much military families depend on the government keeping its word and paying them on time. The Senate can avoid all this pain and confusion among our military families by simply passing HR5731 immediately. HR5731 has already passed the House and if five more Democratic Senators would join the 3 Democrats and 52 Republicans who have already voted for it then the military and their families would be paid on time next Wednesday. The men and women who risk their lives protecting us and their families should not have to pay the price for politicians arguing over policy. Pass HR5731 now and avoid a lot of anxiety and pain for our forces.

The shutdown is the fault of Schumer and the Democrats.  Trump did not shut down the government; it was shut down by a vote in the Senate.
