Trump returns sanity to US energy policy

 Red State:

...

One of the things that President Donald Trump has made clear about his presidency is that he intends to bring jobs back that Joe Biden let get away or consciously attacked. That's part of what the tariff push is about: encouraging manufacturing to come back to the U.S. rather than fleeing to other countries.

One of the areas that Trump is intent on building up again is the energy industry, or as they phrase it, "American Energy Dominance." It's not just about jobs but also securing our own energy independence — about which Biden didn't seem to be concerned.

Under Trump, the price of oil has been coming down, and the average gas price nationally has dropped from what it was under Joe Biden a year ago.

On Tuesday, Trump signed executive orders to help the coal industry.

According to the Trump team, the orders will:

— Reinvigorate America's beautiful clean coal industry

— Lift Biden-era restrictions on coal plants

— Strengthen the reliability and security of the electric grid

— Protect American energy from overreach by radical leftists in the states

It will also expedite leases for coal mining on federal lands.

What a stark contrast with the clueless Biden.

...

Biden was pandering to the climate kooks in the Democrat party.  He drove up the cost of energy and made the country less safe.  The climate change narrative never made much sense to me.  The climate has not become worse during my lifetime.  It is 61 degrees outside now in this part of Texas.  The country is better off taking advantage of fossil fuels than trying to make a go of alternative energy projects.  Those projects are both limited in their ability to produce adequate energy and also more expensive for consumers.
