The growing isolation of the American male

 Post Millenial:

A February 8 survey from Pew Research Center found that 63 percent of young men ages 18 through 29 report being single while only 34 percent of women in that same age group report the same.

Terry Schilling, the President of the American Principles Project, told Breitbart News, "Men are more under attack than ever. A majority of college graduates are now women, and men are making less in the workforce. And because women expect their partner to make more than them, it’s leading to a great isolation of American men."

As The Post Millennial reported, a Psychology Today study found many men avoid asking women out for fear of seeming "creepy." In that study, 53 percent of men between the ages of 18 and 40 reported being single and 44 percent of that group said the fear of being creepy "reduces their likelihood of interacting with women."

The Pew Research Poll also found that roughly 30 percent of all US adults are single, meaning "they are not married, living with a partner or in a committed romantic relationship."

In adults between the ages of 18 and 29, 47 percent report being single. Those 30 to 49 years of age only come in at 21 percent single, 50 to 64 at 29 percent, 65 and up report 33 percent.

While young men come in at 63 percent single, the other age groups sampled, 30 to 66 and up, all come in between 20 and 30 percent.

For women, no age group reports being single at a percentage higher than 40 percent, with women 65 and up coming at 39 percent. Women 30 to 49 report only a 17 percent single rate.

As Breitbart reports, young men "commit suicide at four times the rate of their female counterparts. They are falling behind in education, with women receiving nearly 60 percent of undergraduate degrees. And research suggests that the rise in mass shootings, committed primarily by young men, is linked to the 'great isolation of American men,' as Schilling put it."

This is not a healthy situation and it is also becoming a threat to US national security as fewer men or joining military service.
