Russian pushback against Putin's war in Ukraine

 Andrew West:

...

The potential additional mobilization of civilians to fight in Ukraine could trigger a larger revolt in Russia herself, as those who’ve already been conscripted have complained of rusty firearms, a lack of food, and idiotic negligence from their commanding officers.

The war in Ukraine has exposed how fragile the Russian economy and its conventional military force are.  Putin has already lost many of his best troops and his attempt to get conscripts into the war is not changing the dynamic in Ukraine but is impacting his political support in Russia.
