Russia draft results in violence

 NY Times:

Gunman Attacks Draft Office as Kremlin Admits Errors in Call-Ups

The shooting in Siberia reflected growing anger over Russia’s mobilization of hundreds of thousands of civilians as its army struggles in Ukraine.

This is happening at the same time the mobilization has resulted in thousands of people fleeing the country by airlines and automobiles.  It is obviously an unpopular move by the Putin administration in support of an unpopular war in Ukraine.

Washington Post:

A recruitment officer at a military enlistment station in Irkutsk is shot and wounded by a young man as thousands flee Russia's chaotic Ukraine mobilization.
