Federal and State officials accused of ignoring extreme weather forecast

 The Hill:

Meteorologist says transportation officials ignored forecasts, leading to I-95 disaster

This conforms my original take on the I-95 mess.  The people should have been told to take shelter from the storm like they often are about hurricanes.  There is plenty of lodging and food establishments along that route to take care of those stranded by the winter storm. They should have been announcing the storm and telling people to take shelter on all of the radio stations with emergency broadcast and the state should have had highway patrols diverting traffic to access roads where the hotels and motels are.
