The no fun left gets its wrong on bike rally

Level 1:
Even by
standards, this effort to blame the Sturgis rally for "superspreading" #sarscov2 is humiliating. 460,000+ went to Sturgis for up to 10 days. Almost two weeks later, 70 infections are reported. That's far LOWER than the background US rate.

This is after the bikers were in 62 percent of US counties after the rally. It looks like not only was there little infection from the rally, but there was also little after effect. These people were getting a lot of fresh air and in few confined spaces conducive to the spread.

This looks like at a minimum the virus appears to be running out os steam at least for healthy people riding motorcycles.

While there were a few positive readings on the participants, it did not fit the media pattern of large gatherings:

Where Americans Gathered, the Virus Followed

Month by month, virus clusters have emerged from church services, college parties,
business meetings and more. Some drew public attention. Others went largely unnoticed.
Since it was a mainly outdoor event, it was not the spreader the media expected.
