Since when is 3/4 of a million dollars considered 'affordable' housing?

NY Times:

Why Does It Cost $750,000 to Build Affordable Housing in San Francisco?

As California’s governor vows to tackle the state’s homelessness crisis, housing “insanity” stands in the way.
Actually, California's government is only going to make it more expensive with mandates for solar panels on the roof and repealing Proposition 13 that froze property taxes.  California and other blue states standout was proponents of government greed.  They want to tax and then spend the money on vote-buying schemes for groups they favor.

You get prices like this by restricting the supply of housing and places where it can be built.  You impose regulations on builders that drive up their costs.  There is really no excuse for this other than control freak government.
