Just four years after the American troop surge, a sustained fighting effort by the Taliban has put parts of southern Afghanistan back under direct threat.

Democrats like Obama appear to have mastered the easy art of losing a war.  Retreat before it is over and before you have persuaded the enemy that his cause is hopeless.   Obama has a knack for giving hope to the enemy and like in Iraq he is demonstrating that retreat is not the same as winning.
