Clinton made his share of mistakes but had a knack for negotiating with his adversaries that Obama wholly lacks. George Bush was reviled by some Democrats to the point that they actually publicly fantasized about his assassination. The NY Times actually gave a somewhat favorable review to a movie about such a fantasy.
