Recycling confiscated weapons in Texas

NY Times:

Under a New Law, the Police Can Act as Gun Dealers

A new Texas law will allow the state’s law enforcement agencies to bolster their budgets by selling confiscated guns to licensed weapons dealers.
Texas does not have the paranoia about guns that many people in blue states have.  I guess it is a way to supplement the income of the law enforcement agencies.   As a practical matter, the guns will be sold in transactions that should get them into the hands of law abiding citizens, which will probably prevent more crime.  It is probably another example of what seems scary in New York, seems like common sense in Texas.  We are that way about low taxes too.
