This is the opposite of what GOP consultants are saying
NY Times:
While the media will probably side with the President and the liberal Democrats if Congress opposes funding, that is going to happen anyway. We just have to be ready to deal with their bias.
Karl Rove and others in the GOP consultant class oppose attempts to defund Obamacare saying that the policy will fall of its own weight if the Republicans just get out of the way and let Obamacare fail. They are proposing a game of chicken that leaves Obama in the driver's seat. Those who want to halt funding of this policy already have the voters on their side. A majority wants to repeal the program. It is the most despised law in history. Caving on this fight is likely to alienate the Republican base and give Democrats an advantage in 2014 similar to the cave on judicial nominees did in the 2006 race.Obama Intends to Let Health Care Law Prove Critics Wrong by Succeeding
The law will become vastly more popular once “all the nightmare scenarios” from adversaries prove wrong, the president said in an interview last week.
While the media will probably side with the President and the liberal Democrats if Congress opposes funding, that is going to happen anyway. We just have to be ready to deal with their bias.
