Democrats barely pass a budget in Senate

NY Times:

Senate Passes $3.7 Trillion Budget, Its First in 4 Years

The 50-49 vote sets up contentious negotiations with the Republican-dominated House to reconcile two vastly different visions for dealing with America’s economic and budgetary problems.
It looks like liberalism is not all that popular even with Democrats.  The budget that was passed is a tax ans spend affair that will be unpopular with most voters and that is why some red state Democrats did not vote for it.   The Senate budget has already been rejected by the House   I think the chances of reaching a compromise are remote.  Democrats are bitterly clinging to the failed policies of liberalism that have ground our economy to near a halt since Obama was elected.
