Why unions are on the decline
J.R. Labbe discusses how the walkout at Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth has led to greater efficient with management filling in for the union workers. They completed 33 ground engine flight test instead of the planned 17. Three new F-16s were built along with six F-35s.
Labbe also reveals some personal experiences with the inefficiencies caused by unions as well as the feather bedding. I have seen other reports that tell of union feather bedding at the steel plants closed by Bain in Kansas where workers brought sleeping bags to the plant and collected overtime pay while sleeping. They should have applied for jobs as mattress testers.
Is it any wonder that Boeing might have an interest in building planes in a right to work state rather than a forced union state?
