Sen. Cornyn joins July 4 Tea Party at Capitol in Austin
The July 4 Capitol Tea party will be between 2 and 4 p.m. on the South steps of the Capitol. Also speaking are Congressman Louie Gohmert, State Rep. Wayne Christian, AFP-Texas Director Peggy Venable, Iraq War veteran Kelly Hoag, Don Crawford from the Eagle and Child Radio Show.
The Tea Party Movement has struck a chord with many voters and is success is mirrored by poll numbers showing that a majority of voters don't believe the Obama administration has a plan for handling the debt they are running up.
These gatherings are a way for people to demonstrate their concern about the debt already incurred and to be incurred with programs already in the works.
Congressman Gohmert recently put some questions to Attorney General Holder about the closing of Gitmo, that Holder did not handle well. The former judge needs to continue to hold the administration's feet to the fire on the use of lawfare to fight our enemies.
My guess is it will be hot so bring a bottle of water or more appropriately iced tea to the party.
