Bin Laden says it will be a 'long war'

"We either live under the light of Islam or we die with dignity ... brace yourselves for a long war against the world's infidels and their agents," the militant leader said in an audio tape was posted on an Islamist website on Thursday.

One of the iterations in describing the war being waged against us in this country has been "the long war." Now bin Laden has embraced it.

He is also being pretty active for a dead man these days. He released a tape directly to al Jazeera earlier this week in the lead up to Obama's speech and is back to using Islamist websites for this latest message. If nothing else Obama's speech has smoked him out of his grave for awhile anyway.

As for his description of "the light of Islam" his own vision of that light is rather dark and requires a lot of "involuntary" martyrs.
