Al Qaeda's absence of empathy was a symptom not a cause. It sprang from the inherent religious bigotry of al Qaeda's true believers. It is that religious bigotry that is the driving force behind al Qaeda. All the other grievances are based on it.
It is funny how liberals are quick to see religious bigotry in conservatives, but are willing to ignore blatant bigotry by Muslim radicals.
