Defending the American Dream Austin Summit

Peggy Venable at Americans For Prosperity and her crew did a terrific job Friday and Saturday, along with RightOnline.com, bringing together some enthusiastic activist and bloggers. The Sam Adams Foundation was also on hand offering good advice to bloggers on growing their readers.

Saturday morning had one great speaker after another. I thought Stephen Moore and John Fund from the Wall Street Journal were terrific. Mike Williams, Chairman of the Texas Railroad Commission gave a terrific speech on meeting our energy needs and so did Commissioner Elizabeth Ames Jones. You can see a piece of Mike's remarks here.

There were several more including Michelle Malkin.

A special thanks goes out to the Sam Adams Foundation for providing a scholarship to bloggers like myself to attend. While I included some material from the conference in other posts I wanted to make send out a thanks to the people that made this event possible. We were a nice contrast to the Netroot folks who were intent on keeping Austin weird across town.
