An Osprey VIP mission in Iraq

MNFI:

A Marine Corps crew chief arms a machine gun on the rear of an MV-22 Osprey on Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, Nov. 22, 2007. The MV-22 carried Marine Corps Gen. James E. Cartwright, vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and USO entertainers to multiple stops in Iraq.
I guess the Marines are showing confidence in the Osprey if they are willing to transport such important passengers in the unique craft. I still think having only a rear gunner is a serious design flaw. Click the image for a larger view.
