Israel's angry response to Hamas's mass murders

BBC: Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have experienced the heaviest night of Israeli bombardment since the war with Hamas began three weeks ago. Hamas-run authorities said hundreds of buildings were destroyed in air and artillery strikes, and that at least 377 people were killed in the past day. Israel's military said its warplanes hit 150 underground targets, including tunnels and other infrastructure. Tanks and troops also went into the Strip and clashed with Hamas fighters. The military said some soldiers would remain in the field, as Israel's defence minister declared that the war had entered a "new phase". Speaking at a news conference on Saturday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Israel had entered the second stage of the war with Hamas. He said additional Israeli ground forces have gone into what he called "that stronghold of evil" - referring to Gaza - to "dismantle" Hamas and bring hostages home. "This will be a long and difficul...

Big Green and EVs are toxic to most Americans

Breitbart: Joe Biden’s Green Energy Flop: Automakers Realize Americans Are Not Buying Electric Vehicles Americans are not buying into the Big Green agenda or EVs at the rate Democrats and Biden hoped.

History of open borders shows it leads to destruction

Victor Davis Hanson: Few Romans in the late decades of their 5th-century A.D. empire celebrated their newfound "diversity" of marauding Goths, Ostrogoths, Visigoths, Huns, and Vandals. These tribes en masse had crossed the unsecured Rhine and Danube borders to harvest Roman bounty without a care about what had created it. Their agendas were focused on destroying the civilization they overran rather than peacefully integrating into and perpetuating the Empire. Ironically, Rome's prior greatness had been due to the extension of citizenship to diverse people throughout Europe, North Africa, and Asia. Millions had been assimilated, integrated, and intermarried and often superseded the original Italians of the early Roman Republic. Such fractious diversity had led to unity around the idea of Rome. New citizens learned to enjoy the advantages of habeas corpus, sophisticated roads, aqueducts, and public architecture, and the security offered by the legions. The unity of these d...

Ukraine's electronic mine detector

Ynews: ... The drone is equipped with an inductive coil and sensors that enable it to navigate around obstacles at low altitudes. Additionally, it features a powerful microcomputer that processes data and transmits it to sappers in real-time. The minister said the drone was significantly faster at detecting mines than humans. “On average, the ST1 operates four times faster than a human, a development set to significantly expedite the demining process in Ukrainian territories, and enhance its safety.” “For instance, sappers from the State Emergency Service, Armed Forces, and National Police will be able to remotely control the drone from a secure location while searching for mines,” explained Fedorov. ... There is a picture of the device at the link above. Ukraine has had to deal with heavily mined areas since the Russians took control of parts of the country.

Biden's open borders policy causing problems in Chicago, New York

John Kass: The wheels of Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson’s bus are certainly falling off, aren’t they? He’s distraught. He’s panicking. And no wonder. Tens of thousands of President Joe Biden’s migrants that the president let in by opening the Southern border are now swamping the city. City Hall has no real plan as they fill the police stations, sleep on the floors and take over the parks and push city residents aside. One plan fell apart publicly this week like a falling souffle in the oven: Johnson’s idea of a tent city in McKinley Park that neighborhood residents oppose. Black voters  oppose  Johnson’s tent cities for migrants, most of whom come from Venezuela. Whites, Asians and even many Latins—themselves one generation or two removed from the immigrant experience—are also adamantly opposed. Biden and the Democrats opened the Southern border to appease whites of the Bolshevik left. “Plan? There is no plan, only chaos,” said Ted Dabrowski of Wirepoints.org on  The...

The evolution of anti-Semitism on campuses

City Journal: Last night, a small cluster of Jewish students barricaded themselves in the library of Cooper Union, while a crowd outside banged on the doors chanting: “Free Palestine.” Scenes like this have become familiar on college campuses. Radical activists have spent years devising strategies to drown out and, in some cases, physically threaten undesirable voices. In March 2017, masked activists at Middlebury College mobbed the social scientist Charles Murray, chasing him and others into a car. They shoved and pulled the hair of the faculty moderator for the event (who said that she disagreed with Murray about many issues). These tactics of revolutionary exception are now being used to target Jewish people on campuses and in cities across the United States. The ugly displays of anti-Semitism that have erupted across the United States over the past month are at once the extension of the racial “reckoning” of the summer of 2020 and a profound challenge to the legitimacy of th...

The case for Biden's impeachment

Epoch Times: Newly minted House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) said President Joe Biden lied about his involvement in his family's business affairs and engaged in a coverup, with the Louisiana Republican vowing that the impeachment inquiry into the president would continue as he now wields the power of the gavel. Mr. Johnson made the remarks in an  Oct. 26 interview  with Fox News' Sean Hannity, in which he said that removing President Biden from office is a real possibility in light of the evidence that has emerged suggesting that the president may have engaged in bribery. "We have the receipts on so much of this now," Mr. Johnson said, referring to evidence that includes bank records showing tens of millions of dollars paid to various shell corporations linked to Biden family members, including the president's son, Hunter Biden. While President Biden has denied any involvement in his son's business affairs, the GOP-led House Oversight Committee has released  ...

The 'Kraken' crack up

Miranda Devine: Trump and Giuliani never fell for Sidney Powell’s 2020 election ‘Kraken’ — but the left sure did ... They dream that Powell’s testimony will deliver a lethal blow to Trump and his embattled former attorney Rudy Giuliani. However, for anyone who paid attention to Giuliani’s testimony to Nancy Pelosi’s Jan. 6 House committee, which he repeated in greater detail behind closed doors to special counsel Jack Smith, Powell was in bad odor with both Trump and Giuliani from the minute she started jabbering about Krakens, which Giuliani told the then-president was “crazy s–t.” Between them they fired her three times, because they thought she was a crackpot. Powell, 68, has been targeted by Democratic prosecutors as their secret weapon to convict the former president for election interference. She is among the unindicted co-conspirators in a federal indictment against Trump. ... But “a big fight started,” Giuliani said, and Trump finally had enough. “The president called me ...

The Biden screw ups

Patricia McCarthy: “It does not take a majority to prevail but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men.” —Samuel Adams On day one of the Biden administration, he  canceled the Keystone Pipeline , putting thousands of skilled workers out of work.  Over the ensuing months, he canceled oil leases, stopped fracking, and  drained our strategic oil reserve .  All this was surely intentional; he means to starve the American people of energy, making what is available more expensive by the day.  Like Obama, he means to transform America, and not in a good way. The most catastrophic stunt Biden pulled was the tragically  ill conceived withdrawal  from Afghanistan.  He left billions in state-of-the-art military equipment to the Taliban along with the Bagram Air Base, which sits close to China.  Thirteen young American patriots were killed by the sheer ineptitude of thei...

The deranged defense of Hamas

Daily Mail: Has wokeism jumped the shark? In other words, have the radical Leftists who for years have exercised increasing power in our universities finally gone too far? I dare to hope so. The recent disgraceful responses to the attacks on Israel that we have seen — from American university campuses to the streets of London and Sydney — have dramatically increased awareness that something is rotten in the state of higher education in the English-speaking world. Some of us have been battling against the ideological takeover of academia for close to a decade. Each year, we have been getting better organised. But we have struggled to convince people in the real world just how bad things are. The past three weeks may finally have changed that. The expression 'jump the shark' was coined in 1977 when the scriptwriters of long-running comedy series Happy Days — into their fifth series and getting short of ideas — tried to pep up the storyline by having the main character, Fonzie,...

Longer range missiles thwart Russian tactics

Business Insider: The long-range ATACMS missiles that Ukraine got from the US are putting Russia on the back foot, rendering one of its tactics less effective, an expert told Insider. The weapon allows Ukraine to strike at great distances, reaching high-value targets like stores of weapons, equipment, and ammunition. Ukraine said it used ATACMS in attacks on two airfields in Russian-occupied territory earlier this month, destroying Russian ammunition depots and helicopters and damaged the airfields . Riley Bailey, a Russia analyst at the Institute for the Study of War, told Insider that ATACMS has a key an advantage over other long-range weapons Ukraine has, like Storm Shadow missiles from the UK and France and the HIMARS rocket system from the US. That's because ATACMS sent to Ukraine have cluster munitions instead of unitary warheads. Each one contains bomblets that spread and hit multiple targets with one strike. This helps Ukraine get around Russia's previous strategy t...

Auto makers pull back on EV transition

Daily Signal: Driving through rural Georgia, I have yet to see an electric vehicle or a charging station. After promising the Biden administration that they would eliminate most of the cars Americans want to buy from dealer lots by 2035, GM and Ford are now waking up to reality. They are cutting back on projections of EV sales and lowering production targets for the cars and batteries. Ford Chief Financial Officer John Lawler said Thursday on a media call , “Given the dynamic EV environment, we are being judicious about our production and adjusting future capacity to better match market demand.” He announced that Ford is postponing $12 billion of spending and investment on EVs, including a Kentucky battery plant, after it halted its $3.5 billion Michigan-China battery partnership in September. This follows an announcement by General Motors on Oct. 17 that it is pausing expansion of electric pickups “due to evolving EV demand.” About 6% of new vehicle sales were electric in 202...

Biden inflation!

Image
Sean Hannity  @seanhannity · 3h Head Biden economic advisor Lael Brainard: "Real wages are up over the last year!" Actually, under Biden, real wages are DOWN by 3.2% while prices are UP by 17.7%. It actually feels like prices are significantly higher after every trip to a gas station or the grocery store.  The Dems' war on fossil fuels is actually much worse than just the price rise becasue they are draining the strategic petroeum reserve to hide what they are doing to prodution.

Biden's border fiasco update

Daily Wire: 2023 Marks Worst Year Ever At The Border With 3.2 Million Nationwide Encounters, Congressional Report Finds The encounters are 100% higher than in Trump's last year in office and there are still two months to go this year.  See, also: Illegal border crossers total over 10 million since Biden inauguration Total is greater than the individual populations of 41 states It certainly does not look like Biden cares about illegal immigration.

The Biden 'loan' scam

The Lid: ... We now have evidence of Joe Biden’s brother taking a $200k check as a ‘loan’ from a distressed company that has since gone bankrupt, only to turn around and immediately write a check to Joe for that same amount as a ‘loan repayment.’ Bankruptcy proceedings of that same company explicitly claim that payment was in the belief that Biden’s name would help open business opportunities abroad. The current Democrat talking point is that this was merely a ‘loan repayment.’ The only problem with that claim is the fact that Comer already has the bank records in question, and that doesn’t add up. ... Whether it was a loan or not, James Biden’s March 1, 2018, check to Joe Biden aptly demonstrates how he personally benefited from his family’s shady influence peddling of his name and their access to him. Even if the transaction was part of a loan agreement, we are troubled that Joe Biden’s ability to recoup funds depended on his brother’s cashing in on the Biden brand. This issue w...

Ground war in Israel enters new phase

Axios: The  Israeli military  late Friday into Saturday "expanded" its ground operation  in Gaza  while also ramping up its bombardment of the Strip, targeting what the IDF said were Hamas tunnels and other infrastructure. The latest:  Gaza's more than 2.2 million people remained largely cut off from the outside world amid a communications blackout in the enclave. ... The big picture:  Israel's decision to expand its ground operations came as it conducted massive and unprecedented air raids and artillery strikes on the northern Gaza Strip. Hamas fired a barrage of rockets toward Tel Aviv and other cities in central  Israel . Most have been intercepted by Israel's Iron Dome. Two Israeli officials said the decision "to expand" ground operations in Gaza was made by the Israeli war cabinet on Thursday night local time after talks on a possible hostage release reached a stalemate. Zoom out:  The IDF's expansion of its operations comes nearly thre...
