A federal investigation has confirmed that some FEMA employees deliberately skipped over homes displaying pro-Trump campaign signs last year — following direct orders from a supervisor.

The findings, released Tuesday, expose yet another scandal within the already troubled Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The Office of Special Counsel (OSC) found that at least five FEMA employees, acting on instructions from a superior, intentionally avoided Trump – supporting households in Florida after Hurricane Milton.

This blatant act of political discrimination was deemed illegal under federal law.

The OSC concluded that Marni’i Washington, the FEMA supervisor in charge of Crew 33, violated the Hatch Act — a law designed to prevent government officials from engaging in political activity while on duty. As a result, the agency has recommended disciplinary action against her.

FEMA aid should be provided regardless of the politics of those suffering losses from storms.  Disciplinary action appears appropriate.
