Democrats frustrated with their weak position

Sidner pointed out the growing frustration within the Democratic base, asking, “Seventy-three percent of Democrats, or Democratic leaders, believe their party is not doing enough. Since Democrats do not control the House or the Senate, what is your plan to try and give Donald Trump some checks and balances?”
In response, Clark acknowledged the deep frustration felt by many Americans as they watch both the Trump administration and Musk’s increasing influence. “First, let me tell you, you got to understand how frustrated people are watching what is happening with this administration and with the unvetted, unelected, richest man in the world [Elon Musk] running roughshod across our personal data and making — threatening the basic services that they provide,” she said. “We understand that we are the minority party in the House and the Senate and they have the White House. And what we have seen is cowardice from House Republicans who won’t stand up for their constituents because they don’t want to step out of line.”
Clark framed the party’s strategy as a defense against what she described as “illegal and unconstitutional acts,” asserting that Democrats are holding Trump and Musk accountable by utilizing the court system. “We are calling out the illegal and unconstitutional acts that we are seeing in the courts. That’s our first line of defense,” she continued, noting that over 78 legal cases have already been filed with favorable results for her party.

The Democrats do not have much better results from their court appearances. There are good reasons why they are the minority party now. Their election of Biden was a disaster. Their policy positions were not as well received as they would need to win elections. They may have some success in lower courts with Democrat judges, but they do not control the Supreme Court. Voters who supported Trump have not changed their minds. I think Musk and the Republicans are on the right track. Trump is more popular than ever. Democrats are going to need better polices that work for everyone to get back in contention.
