Russia tries to use 'dummies' to fool Ukraine troops

 Yahoo News:

Russian invasion forces are trying to deceive the Ukrainian military in the area of Krynky on the east bank of Kherson Oblast with the help of dummy soldiers, a member of the Ukrainian Defense Forces reported on his Telegram channel Hovoryat Snayper on Dec. 21.

By placing stuffed dolls on the armor of infantry fighting vehicles, the Russians wanted to use them to simulate assault operations to mislead the Ukrainian Armed Forces command about the direction of their attacks.

"A couple of infantry fighting vehicles with personnel and an infantry fighting vehicle with stuffed ‘soldiers’ were blown up, which were sent to divert attention," the message said.

Photos with effigies of the Russian military on the destroyed armored vehicles were also posted on social media, which also confirm the unsuccessful use of such tactics by the Russian Armed Forces.

It is not that unusual a tactic, but does not appear to have fooled anyone.
