Prosecutor wants to bar part of Trump's defense

‘Prejudicial’: Jack Smith Moves To Bar Trump From Telling Jury His Prosecution Is Politically Motivated

I suspect that a lot of people already think the case against Trump is politically motivated and that it is only fair that he be able to raise that issue.  For example, in the defendant's discovery process, he should be able to find out if the prosecution has had conversations with political opponents or representatives of political opponents.
