Life has become more dangerous in areas with Soros backed DAs
Daily Mail:
Democrat Austin District Attorney José Garza is being criticized for allowing a man who killed two people in his seventh drunk-driving crash to walk out on bond after his charges were reduced.
Roberto Rangel, 52, was initially charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter after he was allegedly involved in a December 18, 2022 drunk-driving crash killed two people, reported Fox 7 Austin.
Rangel was allegedly driving a truck that failed to yield the right of way while exiting the Chick-Fil-A parking lot in the 500 block of E. Ben White Blvd. and crashed into a motorcycle. The motorcyclist Mark Narvaez, 23, and passenger Kate Garcia, 22, were killed.
According to an arrest affidavit, Rangel refused to take the walk-and-turn test and refused to finish the standing on one leg portion of the sobriety test, and even told officers he drank three vodka Red Bull mixed drinks at a bar before the crash.
He was arrested and held on $100,000 bond. Three months later, his charge was reduced to a DWI and bond was reduced to $10,000 - which he was able to post.

Austin has unfortunately become a liberal enclave in recent years. That actually started when the voting age was dropped to 18 and thousands of students at UT began voting there. I recall a judge in the district court in Austin who famously told DWI defendants that a condition of their release was that they could not go anywhere where alcohol was sold or served. He added, "You may not even go into a 7-11 store to cash a check." Austin clearly needs more judges with that attitude.
