Jim 'Mattress Mack' McIngvale is no stranger to attention-getting bets, but now he's making history with them.

The Gallery Furniture owner stands to win $75 million after wagering $10 million between several sportsbooks on the Astros winning it all.

According to Caesars Sportsbook, Mack is now the winner of the largest payout on a single sports bet in legalized sports wagering history after winning $30 million on a $3 million bet he made with them back in May.

McIngvale created a multimillion-dollar furniture business starting with a site off of I-45 North in Houston in what looked like at the time a circus tent.  His TV commercials were creative as he acted as his own spokesman. His use of gambling as a way to hedge promotions for selling furniture and especially mattresses is unique, to say the least.  He promises customers that he will refund their purchase price if, in this case, the Houston Astros win the World Series.  They did and he and his customers were also winners.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014. When the Congressional Budget Office crunched Obamacare's spending numbers, they estimated that only 7% of employees currently covered by employer-sponsored plans would lose their plans. ...
