Biden's use of Marines as props for his terrible speech

We’ve been writing about how there may be a change afoot at CNN with an effort to move away from being just Democratic scribes to push out the propaganda. It remains to be seen if they are truly going to make that change.

But after Joe Biden’s despicable speech in Philadelphia and the evil aspects of it, at least two of the CNN people pointed out one of the big problems with the speech. They didn’t call out the biggest problem — attacking millions of Americans at the birthplace of the Republic and inciting people against them. But they did note one big issue. In a speech that was a purely political attack on the opposing party, Biden stood there against a blood-red background that looked both Nazi-like and hellish, backed up by U.S. Marines. He was dragging the Marines into his political move, which was completely inappropriate on his part.

CNN’s Chief National Affairs correspondent Jeff Zeleny called it a “break with White House traditions.”

As a former Marine officer, I also thought it looked inappropriate to use the Marines as props for an obviously partisan speech.  Naturally, many on the left were more appalled by the criticism of their use.  It is what we have come to expect from the Democrats on the left.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014.
