Russian ship abandoned after explosion

The crew of a Russian Navy missile cruiser that led the famous attack on Snake Island in the Black Sea at the start of the invasion of Ukraine has ditched the vessel.

At least one Ukrainian official claimed Wednesday that the defending military blasted the flagship vessel Moskva with missiles, though Russia later only publicly conceded damage due to a fire while announcing the crew had abandoned ship.

"As a result of a fire, ammunition detonated" aboard the cruiser, leading the crew to evacuate the "seriously damaged" ship, said the Russian Defense Ministry, according to an English translation of a Russian state-run TASS report. The ministry also said the cause of the fire is under investigation. "Moskva" translates to Moscow, the capital of Russia.

Earlier in the day, Odesa governor Maksym Marchenko claimed Ukrainian military forces hit the warship.

The Russian's story makes their navy look even worse.  It is hard to imagine a properly operating ship and crew that allowed a fire that ignited their ammo.  I suspect if there was a fire it was caused by a Ukraine attack.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014.
