Supreme Court appointment is why we vote for Republicans

Washington Post:
Some in President Trump’s orbit worry that a pre-election confirmation of a conservative replacement for the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg will energize the left in key battleground states.
I received a call from a polling firm in Chicago last night on the issue of the vote to replace Ginsburg on the court.  One of the questions asked was whether I would be angry if the Republicans waited until after the election to vote.  Apparently, a lot of Republicans would.  In 2016 I was a reluctant Trump voter.  The main reason I voted for him then was because of his promise on appointments to the Supreme Court.  He has kept that promise and exceeded my expectations on many other issues.

Regardless of whether someone thinks abortion should be legal, I think the Roe v. Wade decision was a garbage opinion which made up a reason for the opinion where none existed.  Overturning that decision would turn the question of abortion back over to the states where it belongs.  It is clear that blue states will likely approve abortion on demand and red states may have some restrictions on the practice.  In red states that it is likely to lead to people acting more responsibly when it comes to reproduction, and that would be a good thing.
