NY Times keeps pushing Trump's taxes even though they show its Russian stories were a fraud

NY Times:

Trump Deflects Questions About Taxes, but First Debate Has a New Issue

While the president’s Republican allies generally kept their silence, Democrats pounced and former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., the party’s presidential candidate, posted a video noting that the president paid less in income taxes than everyday Americans.
Nor do they touch on how many laws were broken by those responsible for giving them his taxes.  What the Times is trying to do is give those predisposed to vote against Trump another reason to do so.  Trump supporters will not be moved by these stories.  In fact, they are already pointing out that there is no evidence of any deals with Russia.  Meanwhile, the Times has avoided asking the Bidens about the $3.5 million sent to Hunter by a Russian billionaire close to Putin at about the time of the Russian invasion of Crimea.

Congressman Kevin Brady of Texas has asked for a criminal investigation of those responsible for giving Trump's tax documents to the NY Times.

If this is the big pre-debate 'gotcha' that the Democrats and their allies in Big Media had in mind, it’s a bit of a flop.
