Washington Examiner: The Supreme Court on Tuesday ruled in favor of the Trump administration by deciding federal officials can detain immigrants at any time for possible deportation after they have served their time in the U.S. for other crimes. The 5-4 decision reversed the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, which said officials have to detain these immigrants immediately or they are exempt from ever being detained. Justice Samuel Alito delivered the majority opinion for the court, and he was joined by Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, and Brett Kavanaugh. Justices Steven Breyer, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Sonia Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan dissented. Alito wrote that in the past, the court has "held time and time again, an official's crucial duties are better carried out late than never." Fuel Fix: The Houston Ship Channel region is shipping out more than 35 percent of the nation's crude oil exports after the Houston area roughly tripled its volumes from 2017 to 2018. All of the Texas Gulf Coast accounts for about 80 percent of the nation's crude shipments with the Beaumont and Corpus Christi regions ranking second and third nationwide, according to a new report from Morningstar energy analyst Sandy Fielden. This Texas dominance won't end anytime soon. Most of the new crude production is coming from West Texas' booming Permian Basin and there's a race to build a bevy of new export terminals along the Texas coast and even offshore of Texas. The proposed offshore terminals are in deeper waters that can more easily handle the world's largest crude vessels. Washington Post: U.S. will not give visas to employees of the International Criminal Court Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the United States will not allow the tribunal, based in The Hague, to investigate U.S. troops or those of allies like Israel. The court is seen as made up of people with a political bias against US foreign policy in dealing with Radical Islamist and that bias is also used against Israel's resistance to radical Islamist attacks.  The US is not a party to the court and not subject to its jurisdiction.  That was a wise move by the Bush administration.

NY Times: New Zealand Massacre Highlights Global Reach of White Extremism The massacre in New Zealand highlights the contagious ways in which the extreme right has spread in the 21st century — even to a country not strongly associated with it. While there is some evidence to support the claim that the killer was an extremist, it is absurd to suggest that white extremist have the same global reach and history of mass murder attacks as Islamic terrorists.  In fact, when Islamic terrorist killed thousands of New Yorkers in 2001 the media was quick to say that it should not implicate all Muslims.  But the reaction to this killing has been pretty disgusting by both the media and Democrat politicians some of which have blamed Trump for the actions of the killer.  Neither Trump or the NRA had a thing to do with these murders and those who imply otherwise are just engaged in cynical politics.  BTW, I am talking about Sen.
