Russia's bad investment in Venezuela

Rosneft, Russia's state-owned oil firm, invested an estimated $9billion in its South American counterpart PDVSA but mismanagement means it now has almost no chance of getting the money back.
Maduro is the former bus diver who has driven Venezuela off an economic cliff.  Russia should have known better.  Will they be able to recoup the money with gold shipments Maduro took from the central bank?
