New indictments don't suggest Russian interference
NY Times:
I see nothing in this new indictment that suggests that Gates has any information on the Russian "collusion" narrative the Democrats and the media have been pushing.
The indictments appear to be based on business deals that took place years before the 2016 election and that had nothing to do with teh campaign. It could be that Mueller is using the cases in hopes of extorting testimony about the campaign, but these guys were with the campaign only a short while. It also seems clear that the spying on Carter Page did not produce any evidence that has led to an indictment.Rick Gates, Indicted in Mueller Inquiry, May Be Cooperating
- Mr. Gates, a former top adviser to Donald J. Trump’s presidential campaign, was first indicted by the special counsel, Robert S. Mueller III, in October.
- His expected guilty plea suggests he is cooperating with the investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. It could be a significant development in the inquiry.
