Ukraine in full retreat from Crimea

NY Times:
The interim government in Ukraine on Monday ordered the withdrawal of all of the country’s troops in Crimea, as President Obama and several allies prepared to meet in an effort to develop a united response.
The retreat from the bases within Crimea make some sense.  What makes no sense is Russia's theft of Ukraine naval assets and ships.  That cannot be justified even by the bogus suggestions used to seize Crimea in the first place.  Those ships should be turned back over to Ukraine and they should not be allowed to port anywhere until that happens.

I doubt much will come of this meeting.  The Europeans are just not serious people when it comes to this kind of conflict.   They have been lulled into a sense that everything is negotiable and now find themselves in deep trouble because of their reliance on fuel from Russia.  Big Green in the US is aiding the Russian aggression by opposing our sale of LNG to Europe.  This opposition makes no sense whatsoever.   All it does is aid our adversaries while doing nothing to reduce the amount of fuel burned.  Zero.  It demonstrates the strategic vacuity of the anti energy left.  It should be enough to have the majority of Americans reject their arguments against development of our energy resources and reject their policy of artificial scarcity.
