Rubio in the running for VP spot

Mitt Romney told reporters here Tuesday that his vice presidential search team is vetting Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), one of the Republican Party’s biggest young stars, to be his running mate. 
“Marco Rubio is being thoroughly vetted as part of our process,” Romney told reporters, according to a pool report, after gathering a press pool for an unannounced campaign stop Tuesday afternoon in Michigan. 
Romney’s comments come on a day when ABC News first reported that his search team had not asked Rubio to complete a questionnaire or submit any personal financial documents. One outside Romney adviser confirmed the report to The Washington Post later Tuesday, but the adviser left open the possibility that Romney officials could decide to thoroughly vet Rubio at a later date. 
Another adviser who works directly on the campaign told the Post earlier Tuesday that Romney officials conducted a preliminary review of Rubio, mostly using documents, statements and news reports that are publicly available. The team did similar public vettings of a large number of other candidates. 
Other vice presidential possibilities, including Sen. Rob Portman (Ohio) and former Minnesota governor Tim Pawlenty, are undergoing a more intensive review, according to two Republicans close to the campaign. 
Top aides to Rubio declined to comment on the vice presidential candidate search, which has been underway for two months. 
Although many of the party’s grass-roots conservative activists favor Rubio — he routinely wins vice presidential straw polls — Romney has long said that his top priority in selecting a running mate is finding a partner with the experience and wisdom to step in as president on Day One.

Rubio and Paul Ryan are two of my top preferences.  I think Bobby Jindal would also be a smart choice,  He is one of the smartest men in politics and would help Romney deal with the assaults that Democrats would throw their way.   I think Rubio has a bright future in the Republican party.  I would hate to see him get attacked the way the Democrats attacked Sarah Palin, but I think he is up to fighting back.  Ryan has already been in the line of fire because his budget challenges the Democrats in a way they are not used to.  I would love to see him debate the budget on a national stage.  Obama and Biden would not stand a chance on the facts.

Drones appear to be replacing jets for many operations.  The Russia-Ukraine war is an example of that.  Drones are often hard to detect and can be used for intelligence operations as well as for attacking enemy targets.  It would not surprise me to see drones engaging other drones in combat.  They also cost much less than manned fighters.

Apple's huge investment in US including Texas facility

Blaze: Apple announced a $500 billion commitment to infrastructure in the United States over four years, its largest commitment to domestic spending to date. Apple said it will expand teams and facilities in Arizona, California, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Oregon, Texas, and Washington as part of its new spending. With a new facility in Houston, Texas, Apple will reportedly double its investment in advanced manufacturing along with increasing investments in AI and silicon engineering. The company said in a press release that the Houston facility will produce servers to support Apple Intelligence, the "personal intelligence system that helps users write, express themselves, and get things done." ... The Texas facility will be for advanced technologies.   Texas has become a place that is very supportive of the tech industries.  Austin and Houston have seen much of the tech growth in the state.  Texas universities have been active in the AI field.
