Evading China thought police
This is from a Nicholas Kristof column today:
...The column is about the dispute Google has with China. Kristof thinks the young Chinese will eventually overcome the government restrictions. While I agree they are pretty clever, they are dealing with a control freak government that is pretty uninhibited when it comes to doing what it takes to stay in power.
Young Chinese also are infinitely creative. When the government blocks references to “June 4,” the date of the Tiananmen Square massacre, Netizens evade the restriction by typing in “May 35.”
