Al Qaeda's Anbar leader captured

Acting on a tip, Iraqi soldiers descended on a building in the city of Rawah, 175 miles northwest of Baghdad, where they arrested local al Qaeda commander Abu Muhayyam al-Masri, whose name, like that of the group's overall leader, is a pseudonym meaning, "the Egyptian." Two top aides and nine other insurgents were also seized in the raid.

Hat tip to Gateway Pundit. It is ironic that this was buried in a story about al Qaeda in Iraq's leader taunting President Bush because of the election results. The al Qaeda in Iraq leader believes that the election of Democrats means he is winning. The capture of his Anbar leader means something else. Bill Roggio has more on the al Qaeda gloat. This report says the Anbar leader was killed in the assault.
